Our Slab Installation Process

Every slab we pour follows the same proven process. We adjust thickness and reinforcement based on your needs, but the steps stay the same.

Site Prep and Excavation

We start by marking out the exact dimensions and digging to the proper depth. For most residential slabs, that means excavating 6 to 8 inches below your finished surface height. We remove any soft soil, roots, or debris that could cause problems later.

Base and Drainage

Next comes a 4-inch gravel base that we compact in layers. This step creates a stable foundation and lets water drain away instead of sitting under your slab. We also install a vapor barrier to keep moisture from wicking up through the concrete.

Forming and Reinforcement

We set forms to create straight edges and the right elevation. Then we place rebar or wire mesh according to your slab requirements. Heavy-duty slabs for vehicles get more reinforcement than lighter-use slabs.

Pour and Finish

We pour high-quality concrete mix and work it to eliminate air pockets. As the concrete begins to set, we finish the surface with your chosen texture. Most slabs get a smooth trowel finish or light broom texture. Finally, we cut control joints and cure the concrete properly.
